Construction of new 25,500 sqft building which includes a two storey 3,200 sqft office space, 14,500 sqft retail area, and 7,500 sqft warehouse. Exterior site improvements including site services such as a 50,000 sqft asphalt parking area, an 89,000 sqft asphalt storage area, fencing and landscaping. This new Rona retail store was completed in June 2015.
The University of Ottawa Thompson Hall building’s mechanical and electrical system was upgraded over a 4-month period. Renovations were completed on all 20 floors (5,200 sqft per floor) and included: Fire alarm system replacement and integration to existing/new building systems; New stairwell pressurization system incorporated in the fire alarm system to be set in motion upon alarm; Associated architectural and structural modification scope of work related to new M/E systems including: asbestos removal, fire stopping and smoke seal, shaft wall reconstruction, washroom renovation, painting, etc. The project faced several challenges related to schedule constraints, building permit delays, limited staging area, and existing building conditions however, through multiple phasing of the work, adherence to a strict schedule, and flexibility to adapt were key in delivering the project on time. As a result, the building was opened in time for student use.
Exterior heritage stabilization and repairs to four buildings at the Brockville Mental Health Center. Two of the buildings are designated heritage by the province. Exterior repairs included lead and asbestos abatement, architectural wood replacement, masonry repairs, new foundations, and repainting of steel and wood surfaces. The renovations and heritage restorations were completed in 2014.
Second storey addition of the existing building which will be used for therapy sessions, administrative offices, and residency. The project, with a $1.3 Million construction value, included new elevator and shaft, new security system, new HVAC and electrical systems, as well as interior finishes such as VCT tiles, millwork, paint, suspended ceiling, and washrooms adapted for special needs.
Renovations completed on the first storey of the building included VCT tile repairs, repairs to drywall, repainting, creating openings in concrete floor for the second storey piers.
Renovation of the arena for structural and building envelope Retrofits. The project included a new roof structure, exterior cladding, and HVAC and Refrigeration system upgrade. This project was completed in 2013 with significant consideration given to time critical elements such as building use by the public throughout the project.
